Useful AI, one unit of work at a time.

bit175 finds where AI gives a business real hours back, builds the systems that deliver them, and measures the difference. Our products then bring what works to everyone.

The gap we close

Most businesses use AI. Few can show what it returns.

bit175 starts every engagement with a measured baseline, so the return on AI is visible from the first build.

88%

of organisations use AI in at least one business function.

39%

of organisations report any profit (EBIT) impact from AI.

73%

of small businesses surveyed want help implementing AI.

Sources: McKinsey, The state of AI, November 2025 (first two figures). Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses survey of programme alumni, March 2026 (third figure).

Our approach

AI programmes that start with your work, not a tool.

1

Where to start

Before any tool is bought.

A typical AI rollout
Licences bought first, with use cases found later
Workshops that end with a long list of ideas
With Groundwork
A 45-minute interview about how your business actually runs
A written report naming 3 to 7 existing tools, in setup order
One clear recommended next step
2

Proof

What counts as a result.

A typical AI rollout
Time savings claimed without a starting measure
Results that cannot be checked independently
With Groundwork
Hours per week recorded before anything is built
The same measure taken again 30 days after launch
A before-and-after report for your leadership team
3

Reliable answers

When AI talks to your customers.

A typical AI rollout
Assistants that guess when they do not know
No way to see where an answer came from
With Commonplace Answer Desk
Every answer cites the document it came from
Questions without a source go to a person
4

Price and fit

Who the advice serves.

A typical AI rollout
Packages sold before anyone has looked at your work
Tool choices shaped by vendor referral fees
With Groundwork
Fixed scope and fixed fee, priced on hours returned
Independent tool recommendations, with no referral fees
Assessment fee credited against follow-on work signed within 60 days

How an engagement runs

Every engagement starts with a diagnosis.

  5. 5

    Concierge

Two working sessions a month. One workflow improved each time.

Answers with a source, or a hand-off to a person.

Answer Desk answers customer and staff questions from a business's own documents. It cites every answer and passes anything it cannot source to your team.

  • Web chat, email and WhatsApp
  • Every answer shows the document and section it came from
  • Questions without a source go to a person
Answer Desk · sample conversationSample
How much notice do I give before moving out?
Give written notice at least 60 days before your move-out date, by email to the office or through the tenant portal.

Can my cousin stay with me for three months?
Your documents do not cover this, so I have passed your question to the office team. They reply within one business day.

How we measure

Every result is measured against a baseline.

Each project follows the same four steps, so you can see exactly what AI has returned to your team.

1

Baseline

Hours per week recorded for each workflow during the assessment.

2

Build

The agreed engagement is delivered and launched with your team.

3

After

The same measure, taken again 30 days after launch.

4

Review

A before-and-after report, and the next workflow worth improving.

Who we serve

Built for businesses of up to 250 people.

From owner-led firms to established teams of 250, most of our clients have no in-house technical staff. We build for the people who do the work today, and train them to run it.

Up to 250 people

Accounting, legal, brokerage, insurance, agencies, property and logistics.

No technical team required

We build with the team you have and train them to run what we deliver.

Remote and on-site

We work with clients across the United States, remotely or at your offices.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Something else? Contact the right team. We reply within two business days.

Which AI tools do you use?
Mostly tools you can keep using without us: Claude, ChatGPT, and the software you already pay for. We recommend by fit, and we take no referral fees from vendors.
Do we need technical staff?
No. We build for the people who do the work today, and train them to run it.
What if AI is not the right answer for us?
Then your report says so, and recommends process changes instead.
How is pricing set?
We quote after the review call, based on what the work returns. Every engagement has a written scope, a deliverable list and an end date, and the assessment fee is credited against any follow-on engagement signed within 60 days.
What happens to the data we share?
We record interviews only with your consent. Client material goes only into business-tier AI accounts whose terms exclude customer data from model training, and access is removed when an engagement ends. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
How are the four companies related?
Groundwork, Commonplace, Kindling and Baseline are companies of Bit175 LLC, a Delaware holding company. They share methods, research and people: what Groundwork learns in client work informs Commonplace products, Kindling investments and Baseline research.
Where do you work?
Bit175 LLC is a Delaware company. Groundwork works with clients across the United States, remotely and on-site.
